This week, I officially launched pre-orders for my new book on Amazon, and I've been blown away by the response. In just a few days, friends, family, and fans have come out in droves to support my labor of love.
"Reality Bites" is already #5 in new releases in Discrimination and Racism!
The book will be released on November 17th, but pre-orders are critical because they drive visibility on Amazon -- and visibility will be the KEY to the long-term success of this book.
Those of you familiar with my work understand the importance of the issues I've been tackling. In many ways, I've been preaching to the converted. But now it's time to move to the next level. The bigger challenge will be to spread my message beyond our circle to a much larger audience, and that will only happen if we create awareness. The longer this book stays in the top #10, the more likely it is that readers outside our circle will see the title and check it out.
And once they do, that's when I think the magic will happen.

Many readers had a sense that we are being purposefully divided from one another; they just didn't know why. But after reading my book, they've told me that the pieces have started falling into place for them. And more important, they understand why we need to come together, now more than ever, as we approach an election that threatens to create deeper fractures in our country.
The power of unity is resonating so strongly with people now that it gives me chills.
I wrote "Reality Bites" with Thomas Paine in mind. I consider it "Common Sense" for the 21st century -- from the perspective of a woman of color. I believe this book is an experience, and it's one that we need as many Americans as possible to have now.
